Veronica Alonso
1st Grade

To my students I am known as Ms. Verónica. I am from Valencia, Spain and come from a family with two older brothers. One is my older sibling and the other my twin. I attended Primary School in my village then I did Junior High School and High School in a boarding school, CHESTE, near VALENCIA. A place I loved.

I attended the University in Valencia where I received two degrees. My university education found me studying in two different programs. This required me to attend morning and night education sessions in order to obtain the dual degrees. My first degree is teaching English as a foreign language while teaching all subjects in primary school, and my second degree is about teaching Valencian, another language in Spain.

After studying at the university I went to London to work as an AU PAIR. I stayed there for almost two years. During the summers I used to go to France. I speak some French, a bit of Italian, Valencian, Spanish and English.

In my village I play the clarinet in the local band. I grew up going to SCOUTS where in Spain boys and girls are together in SCOUT Programs. I love the outdoors and when it is good weather, I like going to the mountains, enjoying picnics there and spending the day amid nature with my children playing and riding our bikes.

We usually eat PAELLA with the other Spanish teachers on Sundays and love being with others from our country when we are so far from home and extended family. All of us have a good time together.
