I was born and raised in Davis County, and I love this area. I come from a family of four with one older sister. I had great friends growing up, loved the outdoors and enjoyed Scouting. Some of my favorites are being with friends and family, the outdoors, and anything to do with cars. I’m still involved in Scouting as an advisor. I’m currently saving up for a little BMW to restore some day.

I attended public schools near my home in North Salt Lake, and had the opportunity of serving as the Student Body President of Woods Cross High my Senior year. Following high school, I attended Utah State, and served an LDS mission in Panama, where I learned Spanish! My wife and I love the language, and I enjoy being in an environment where I can use it often. After my mission, I finished my degree at USU in Business Entrepreneurship (Entrepreneur is a fancy French word which, literally translated, means “someone who works really hard and doesn’t make any money”) with a Minor in English.

I will be returning “after hours” to Utah State to work on a Masters in Education. I loved my undergraduate experience at USU. I had a great time, learned a lot, and made a lot of great friends. I met my best friend there as well and married her! She’s pretty amazing. She loves tennis, playing the piano, trying new recipes, and being with family. We were married in 2007 and have one adorable daughter. She is an absolute blast and teaches me every day.

I love my job at NDPA. I love the students, I love teaching technology, and I love the culture here. I love teaching a concept and seeing it ‘click’ with students; it’s the best feeling! I’ve never felt more challenged in ways that make me feel strong than I do teaching here. I’ve had more jobs than just about anyone I know. I’ve delivered flowers, sold cars, taught LDS Seminary, mowed lawns, been a banker, and worked (no kidding) at Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum. I typically change jobs once the learning curve flattens out, but I hope to be at NDPA for a long time as there’s a new challenge every day.
