Mornie Sims has lived in Utah, Arizona, Washington State, Norway, Mexico and Israel. She graduated from Provo High School and went to Brigham Young University for her Bachelors in International Relations and her Masters in International Development with an emphasis in Third World Literacy. She is currently studying to receive her TESOL Certificate (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). She speaks Spanish and Norwegian but can also read Danish and a bit of Swedish.
Mornie has two children who attend NDPA and a new baby. She is excited about the school's goals and direction and hopes to be a part of its growth and success.
Mornie has been volunteering for years teaching English to foreign students, studying literacy efforts in Mexico, helping build NDPA, among other opportunities. She volunteers because she enjoys being part of something important and helping to make a difference. She is passionate about language acquisition, literacy research, her husband, her children, clean floors, and chocolate—especially chocolate. |
