Mary Webber
5th Grade
My name is Mary Webber and I grew up in Ogden, Utah. I attended Grandview Elementary where I said at a very young age I wanted to be a school teacher, and in 6th grade I was the Student Body President. I attended Mt. Ogden Jr. High where I ran track, was 8th Grade Secretary and the yearbook editor. I attended Ogden High School where I ran cross-country, track, and was the Senior Class Secretary. I graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, and my concentration areas were in Spanish and Child Development.
I served an LDS mission to the Dominican Republic. The D.R. is a wonderful place with beautiful people and scenery. I am happy to have learned Spanish while I was there.
I began teaching school 20 years ago in Ogden City. Later, my husband and I moved to Oklahoma City for his Law school. I taught in Oklahoma City at a Spanish bilingual school for the three years that we lived there. We then returned back to Ogden where I taught at Grandview Elementary, the school that I went to as a childJ. It was awesome to teach at the school I use to attend.
I took some time off to be with my two wonderful boys, and now I am grateful to be back to teaching. This is my 7th year of teaching school, and my 5th year for 5th grade. I also taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade.
During my years of teaching school, for four of the years I was an assistant principal (helping the principals while they were out of the building- I still taught school, this was just one of my responsibilities). I was also the Student Government Advisor, a mentor to two teachers, and I was a cooperating teacher to two student- teachers. I was also over the school carnival.
In my spare time I enjoy going to the movies and out to dinner. I enjoy the holidays, taking pictures, scrapbooking and planning parties for my kids. I also enjoy traveling with my family.
I love working at NDPA and I am grateful to be here! I love the faculty, staff, students, parents, etc.!
