Spanish

I was born in Malaga, a charming city in the South of Spain which is called ‘The Sun Coast’ and where my parents moved to from a small and beautiful white village in the province surrounded by olive and almond trees. I have lived in Malaga with my family and my two older sisters for more than twenty years. I always wanted to be a teacher so I attended my classes at the University of Malaga where I got my degree in Hispanic Philology (Spanish Language and Culture). After that, I worked as an assistant editor in an Human Sciences Review of the University, while I was finishing my Master in Teaching Training and preparing the competitive exam for the position of a Secondary teacher that finally I passed. Moreover, I have continued improving my Language skills: I have studied English (Hilderstone College, Kent, and Oxford Studies Center, in England) and French (Alliançe Française, Paris).

I love teaching Spanish and, above all, Spanish Literature. I have taught during 5 years (in the city center and on the coast, to native and foreign speakers…) and I like more and more my job: I see my students growing up and becoming responsible citizens. In fact, I’ve learned the importance of the education at home: my grandmother, who is one hundred years old and illiterate, always reminds me to be positive and patient with my students. (She has been a real inspiration).

In my free time, I love reading, listening to music, exploring singer-songwriter music, going to the theatre, chatting with my family and friends all gathered around a table and going for a stroll with my two nieces (they are four and two years old). I also enjoy travelling and learning languages (I speak English, French and a little of Italian), so I am sure that teaching and living in the USA is going to be an unforgettable experience!
