Brand new to Utah, I have quickly fallen in love with Salt Lake City. I grew up in a small town in eastern Oregon (just outside of Boise, Idaho), so I have particularly enjoyed living in a larger city. As a skiier, I look forward to touring the many ski resorts Utah offers, and to taking advantage of the extended ski season. Aside from skiing, I also find joy in running, scrapbooking, and, of course, reading.

I recently graduated from the College of Idaho with a degree in English and minors in education and history. My focus of study was world literature, particularly post-colonial nations and Palestinian literature, so I am drawn to literature that is unusual and exposes me to something outside of my own experiences. I hope to bring part of my fascination with unique literature into the classroom.

At North Davis Prep Junior High I teach 7th grade Language Arts. Along with a love of literature, I also deeply enjoy working with middle grade students. Every day is a new adventure, and I look forward to the challenge of continually finding new ways to turn students on to literature and writing, two areas toward which students often have an aversion. Nothing reminds me why I love teaching like having a student say, "It's weird, I'm really liking this book".
